Asia’s global museum of contemporary visual culture on the West Kowloon waterfront at 38 Museum Drive, opened in November 2021. From 17 October 2026 to 4 April 2027 the West Gallery on Level 2 holds Myths and Monsters: The Art of Fantasy in Asia, a Special Exhibition of more than 400 works spanning ukiyo-e to manga, anime, and contemporary fantasy. The founding M+ Sigg Collection holds more than 1,500 works of Chinese contemporary art from 1972 to 2012; the Sigg Galleries on Level 2 remain named in perpetuity and show rotating collection exhibitions. Standard admission is HKD 190, concessions HKD 100; children 6 and under do not need a ticket. Free zones include the Mediatheque, Found Space, and Roof Garden. The museum is closed Mondays. Typical hours run 10:00 to 18:00 Tuesday to Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, and 10:00 to 22:00 on Fridays, last admission thirty minutes before close. From 10 July 2026, M+ has used timed morning, afternoon, and Friday-night session tickets. Buy ahead on mplus.org.hk for Art March and weekend afternoons. Do one deep museum day rather than racing the Hong Kong Palace Museum next door on the same ticketed clock. On wet or windy days, approach via covered West Kowloon links rather than the open harbour boardwalk. Recheck Friday late hours if a special M+ at Night date has pulled closing forward.
