The Banquet note
TEFAF Maastricht opened at the MECC in 1988 under The European Fine Art Foundation, after earlier Dutch painting and antiques fairs merged in the mid-1980s. The 2027 edition runs from 13 to 18 March, with invitation-only previews on 11 and 12 March. Official materials describe more than 260 dealers across sections spanning ancient art through modern and contemporary work, jewelry and design, supported by specialist vetting committees and Art Loss Register checks. Recheck dealer counts and section names when the 2027 floor plan is final.
Arrive via Brussels, Cologne, Amsterdam or Düsseldorf and treat Maastricht as a destination, not a day trip. Keep preview credentials separate from public tickets, and leave evenings for the old town rather than forcing every booth into one marathon. Pair TEFAF with Art Basel Hong Kong only if your March calendar can absorb two continents; many diaspora collectors choose one dense market week rather than both.
