Singapore's gallery association uses five weeks of exhibitions, conversations and home visits to make collecting feel like a city habit rather than a fair-week performance.

The Banquet note
Presented by the Art Galleries Association Singapore, Singapore Gallery Month's seventh edition runs from 15 August to 13 September 2026. More than 30 galleries contribute over 100 programmes across exhibitions, talks, tours, workshops, performances and collector-focused experiences. Gillman Gatherings opens the programme on 15 August; Art After Hours, co-presented with UOB, brings extended programming to Tanjong Pagar Distripark on 29 August; Creators & Connoisseurs at Gajah Gallery puts artists and collectors into short conversations on 5 September.
The collecting lesson is deliberately practical. Free exhibitions let visitors compare rooms before they buy, while Collectors' Home Tours, one-to-one advisory sessions and the Patron's Pass show how works move from a gallery wall into a residence. Start at Gillman Barracks with FOST Gallery, Mizuma Gallery, ShanghART Singapore and Yeo Workshop, then return to one artist after the opening crowd has gone. Ask about price, edition, provenance, framing and shipping. A second conversation is usually more useful than a tenth opening.
Plan it well
Cluster by district. Give Gillman Barracks a half-day, keep 29 August for Tanjong Pagar Distripark if Art After Hours interests you, and reserve ticketed programmes through the official listings. Gallery hours and Monday closures differ, so confirm every room before crossing the city.
