Saturday 12 December is the day before the Hong Kong International Races at Sha Tin, and it is also the day Foodie says Le Café Louis Vuitton opens to the public, inside LV The Place at K11 MUSEA. Rubin Verebes, the magazine's managing editor, reported that on 14 October and wrote that the date had been confirmed exclusively to Foodie. Dimsum Daily and the leasing press repeated it the next afternoon. I checked Louis Vuitton's Hong Kong store list on 16 October. Landmark, Harbour City, the airport, Times Square, Elements, Pacific Place, Lee Gardens, and the Peninsula are all there. K11 MUSEA is missing, which is awkward if you are trying to put the afternoon in a diary before the rooms in town disappear for race week.
Put 12 December on the calendar anyway. In this sequence the room a visitor can actually reserve has been the café, and the boutique has been the thing you walk through on the way to it.
Osaka opened the first of them in 2020, Le Café V with Sugalabo V, under Yosuke Suga. Tokyo followed on 20 March 2021, on the seventh floor of the Ginza store. Bangkok's LV The Place at Gaysorn Amarin opened in early 2024 with the café and, in the same building, Gaggan at Louis Vuitton, so the chef had a name before most people had the address. Seoul is the one to copy. Café Louis Vuitton opened on 1 September 2025 on the fourth floor of Maison Louis Vuitton Cheongdam, reservations went live on Catchtable at 3:00 in the afternoon on 18 August, and chef Anthony Yoon cooks that room with Arnaud Donckele and Maxime Frédéric. Two weeks' notice, on an app, for a kitchen that had already been introduced.
Hong Kong has the pastry and a blank where the other kitchen should be. Foodie says a celebrity-chef restaurant sits in the same Place, and nobody has attached a name to it, after Bangkok printed Gaggan and Seoul printed Yoon. If you are flying for the person at the stove, wait until this one prints a name too. If you are flying for the café, Frédéric is already on the page.
He is pastry chef for Louis Vuitton, and his chocolate shop, Le Chocolat Maxime Frédéric at Louis Vuitton, sits at 2 bis rue du Pont Neuf in Paris, above LV Dream, open daily from 11:00 to 20:00. The shop says he was named the world's best pastry chef in 2025. Foodie says he is joining Hong Kong to build the café program, which I would read as the menu, the way a house announces a chef and then staffs the pass locally. Whether he works a service on Salisbury Road is still an open question. The kitchen jobs, Foodie adds, are being filled through a local luxury catering group, so the program may be his and the pass may belong to a local team.
Foodie describes the Place as four things at one address: the café, that unnamed restaurant, the retail floor, and an exhibition. Bangkok opened on the same plan and then published Gaggan's hours apart from the café, which is what you want here, a page that tells you which door is which. Until Hong Kong does that, ask for Le Café when a booking link appears, and leave the other dining room alone.
The Hong Kong reports put the whole thing at about 40,000 square feet, on the ground floor, on the waterfront beside the Avenue of Stars. The address you can use today is the one already in the Address Book, Victoria Dockside, 18 Salisbury Road, in from East Tsim Sha Tsui Exit J or Tsim Sha Tsui Exit E. From the promenade, what you can see is the trunk hoarding in the photograph above, which Foodie published on 14 October and credited to @hkmalls: a handsome hoarding on a site that is still under construction.
The paperwork started before anyone had a date. On 11 August, HK01 reported a liquor-licence application for LE CAFE and LV The Place Hong Kong in the name of Victor Bernard Judeaux, the house's head of hospitality for North Asia, which tells you the café was already the plan in August. A recruitment day followed on 5 October at the Quarry Bay office, for client advisors, stylists, a team manager, visual merchandisers, and maison hosts. New World Development is the landlord, and HK01, citing Bloomberg, reported a turnover rent, with the landlord paid from sales. That tells you about the lease, and it leaves Saturday's table as its own problem.
Race week is why any of this is worth knowing in October. People who already hold Sunday at Sha Tin will be in the city on Saturday, and Victoria Dockside is a harbour afternoon before the East Rail the next morning. The Tourist Badge is the public ticket once the Jockey Club posts it. Hours for the café have not been published, and neither has a menu. Seoul's reservation link showed up about two weeks out, on a booking app, which is a better plan than arriving on the 12th and hoping someone is seating walk-ins.
If you are in town before that link exists, Louis Vuitton will still send you to the stores already on its Hong Kong list: Landmark, Harbour City on Canton Road, the airport, Times Square, Elements, Pacific Place, Lee Gardens, and the Peninsula. When you want a person to say whether the K11 address is live, client services is +852 8100 1182.
Stay inside the cluster if the café is the Saturday plan. Rosewood Hong Kong shares the Victoria Dockside address, and The Banquet Guide to Hong Kong still has the two-shore logic if Sunday night belongs on the Island. Recheck the house site before you treat 12 December as a confirmed sitting. Until that page exists, the date you can plan around is the one Foodie was given, and the room to ask for is the café.
