The Banquet note
Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week returns 3–9 August 2026 to the Esplanade at KLCC Park for a third consecutive year, its 14th edition under the theme Destination: Home Ground. Founder Andrew Tan’s platform lists more than 50 homegrown designers and labels in a purpose-built 500-seat hall with an hourglass runway and a monochromatic facade drawn from Yayasan Sabah batik archives. The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living is a first-time principal partner and has placed the week on the Visit Malaysia 2026 calendar; KPDN figures put participation near 60 local brands, 35 designers, and more than 20 industry partners. The Fashion Forward Batik Malaysia segment shows 30 looks from ten designers using batik sourced from East and West Malaysia.
The useful visit splits in two. Indoor shows remain invite-heavy; treat the outdoor LED broadcast as the public runway. Inside Suria KLCC, Isetan student styling, a Moccona visual exhibition, and the Jom Malaysia pop-up make the week shoppable without a wristband. Opening night belongs to Suria retail partner Rizman Ruzaini (RR plus the main line); Fiziwoo adds Woo Brothers menswear; Behati, Kit Woo, Nerdunit, Tanoti, and debuts including PLAZÄ, Super Structure, EMRI, and 99%Angel fill the midweek. Confirm daily times on the KLFW site before you walk over from KLCC or Ampang Park.
Plan it well
Stay near KLCC if you want evening shows without a taxi scramble. Arrive early for outdoor screens; mall activations are the easier public hours. Recheck the live schedule on klfashionweek.website, and treat Sunday’s Hatta Dolmat close as the last seated appointment.
