Sorn
Southern Thai tasting-menu house on Sukhumvit Soi 26 led by chef-owner Supaksorn “Ice” Jongsiri. Opened in 2018 and built on the family cooking that also sits behind the Baan Ice rooms, Sorn became the first Thai restaurant, and the first in Thailand, to hold three Michelin stars in the Thailand 2025 guide, announced 28 November 2024; the 2026 edition retained the rating. The kitchen sources Andaman seafood, makes chilli pastes daily, and cooks rice in clay pots; the argument is southern depth rather than a pan-Thai tasting. The room is small, on the order of twenty-two seats. International guests email reservation@sornfinesouthern.com from midnight Bangkok time on the 15th of the month for the following month; the public TableCheck window opens at noon on the 25th, or the 24th when the 25th is a Saturday. Expect full prepayment and a strict no-refund rule; arrive within the published grace window or lose the table. Vegetarian and shellfish limits have been tight in past seasons, so write the kitchen before you assume a substitution. Confirm the current tasting price, spice brief, and closed days on sornfinesouthern.com before you lock flights. Sukhumvit 26 is a short hop from Phrom Phong BTS; leave traffic buffer from riverside or Sathorn hotels, and do not plan a second tasting the same night.

While you're there
Soi 26 sits between Phrom Phong BTS and Rama IV. Keep dinner as the night; Thonglor bars afterward fight the tasting’s length. Capella Bangkok is the riverside stay if you want a boat rather than Sukhumvit traffic the next morning.
Pro Tip: Set two alarms, the 15th email and the 25th TableCheck; international seats vanish on the first window, and the second is not a backup so much as a different queue.
- Best for
- A three-star Southern Thai tasting when Bangkok is already on the diary.
- Pair with
- The city brief in The Banquet Guide to Bangkok.
- Season / timing
- Cool-season November to February and Chinese New Year weeks make the monthly drop vanish fastest.
