Nezu Museum

Private museum of pre-modern Asian art at 6-5-1 Minami-Aoyama, rebuilt by Kengo Kuma in 2009 and set beside a 17,000-square-metre garden that once belonged to the Nezu family residence. The collection includes National Treasures and Important Cultural Properties across painting, ceramics, lacquer and tea utensils; exhibitions rotate several times a year. Typical hours run 10:00–17:00 with last entry at 16:30; closed Mondays except public holidays. Buy timed tickets online ahead, and note that the garden and NEZUCAFÉ require museum admission.
