Shenzhen Museum of Contemporary Art and Urban Planning (MoCAUP)
Twin museum in Futian’s civic centre at 184 Fuzhong Road, designed by Coop Himmelb(l)au and opened in 2016 as two institutions under one metal skin: a contemporary art museum and an urban-planning exhibition. The complex occupies about 29,700 square metres of land and roughly 88,200 square metres of construction, with column-free halls and a central mirrored volume often called the Cloud. Typical hours run Tuesday to Sunday 10:00 to 18:00, last entry 17:30, closed Mondays except when a holiday calendar says otherwise. Permanent urban-planning and reform-era displays are usually free; special contemporary shows can require a paid WeChat reservation. Book on the official account 深圳市当代艺术与城市规划馆 up to seven days ahead, in morning and afternoon slots. Children’s Palace station Exit A2 on Metro lines 3 and 4 is a two-to-three-minute walk. Fine Art Asia’s inaugural Shenzhen edition runs 26 to 29 November 2026; confirm the locked hall on fineartasia.com before you treat this civic-centre building as the fair floor. Stay in Futian if MoCAUP is the day’s purpose. Do not add Guangming or Pingshan the same afternoon. Keep WeChat Pay ready, and recross to West Kowloon only after last entry. Ask whether a special exhibition needs a second WeChat ticket besides the free permanent halls.

While you're there
Children’s Palace Exit A2 puts MoCAUP beside the Civic Center and Lianhua Mountain. Walk the park after the halls if legs allow, then return to Futian for the West Kowloon high-speed rail. Keep Shenzhen International Museum of Art (SIMoA) and Shenzhen Natural History Museum for other district days.
Pro Tip: Reserve on WeChat the week before, not at the gate; special exhibitions and fair days use timed slots that walk-up maps will not show.

- Pair with
- Shenzhen International Museum of Art (SIMoA) on a separate Guangming day.
