The Banquet note
On 6 October 2026 Christie's announced its first exhibition in Asia devoted to modern South Asian art, Masterpieces of Modern South Asian Art: Highlights from the Dabriwala Collection, free to the public from 18 to 29 November at its Asia Pacific headquarters on the sixth floor of The Henderson, 2 Murray Road. The house calls it one of the first public showings of a collection Rajendra Dabriwala began more than forty years ago, continued by his son Surbhit, and lately widened from Bengal modernists and the Progressive Artists' Group toward Southeast Asia and a younger diaspora. More than twenty works are promised. A picture-by-picture checklist was not on the event page as of 16 October.
India by the Bay, the eleventh edition, runs 26 to 29 November at Asia Society Hong Kong Center, 9 Justice Drive, so the pictures are already up when the festival weekend starts and come down on its last day. That Sunday at 15:00, Surbhit Dabriwala speaks with Damian Vesey of Christie's London, moderated by Rishika Assomull of Villepin Art. House desk hours are Monday to Friday, 9:30 to 18:00. The Sunday panel means 29 November is open that afternoon. Confirm any Saturday before you go.
Plan it well
Use 6/F, The Henderson, 2 Murray Road. Central Exit J2 or Admiralty Exit B, covered, to the footbridge, then the third-floor Christie's desk for the lift. The lobby desk is the wrong one. Pair a weekday visit with India by the Bay at 9 Justice Drive if you are in town 26 to 29 November. Call +852 2760 1766 before a Saturday.
