The Banquet note
Art Dubai was founded in 2007 (initially as Gulf Art Fair) by John Martin and Ben Floyd and has made Madinat Jumeirah its long-term home. The fair’s twentieth-anniversary special edition ran 14 to 17 May 2026; the next main edition is announced for 7 to 11 April 2027 at the same resort complex. The fair has mixed contemporary, modern and digital practices, including modern platforms such as Zamaniyyat. Watch the 2027 floor plan for section names.
Madinat Jumeirah is a resort souk with air-conditioning, which is both the charm and the trap: you can lose an hour looking for the right hall. Stay on campus or along Jumeirah Beach if the fair is the trip; Downtown makes more sense if you are also seeing clients. April is hot. Do the halls in the morning, then a museum or foundation when the outdoor paths become unkind. Section names have shifted over the years, including modern platforms such as Zamaniyyat; wait for the 2027 map before you plan a booth-by-booth route. Dubai Design Week in November is a different week in a different district. Do not stack them.
