The Banquet note
Art Dubai was founded in 2007 (initially as Gulf Art Fair) by John Martin and Ben Floyd and has made Madinat Jumeirah its long-term home. The fair’s twentieth-anniversary special edition ran 14 to 17 May 2026; the next main edition is announced for 7 to 11 April 2027 at the same resort complex. Official language emphasises contemporary, modern and digital practices, with sections that have included gallery programmes and modern platforms such as Zamaniyyat. Recheck section names and gallery counts when the 2027 floor plan is published.
Stay on the Madinat Jumeirah campus or nearby Jumeirah Beach for the shortest fair route; Downtown and Business Bay work better if you are also seeing design clients later in the year. April heat favours indoor pacing and evening programmes. Pair the week with museum and foundation visits across Dubai rather than treating the souk-side halls as the entire city. Confirm tickets and accreditation on artdubai.ae as April approaches.
Plan it well
Book Jumeirah lodging early for April. Confirm preview versus public hours on artdubai.ae, and keep Dubai Design Week in November as a separate design itinerary rather than stacking both into one trip.
