The RuMa Hotel and Residences

The RuMa Hotel and Residences stands at 7 Jalan Kia Peng, 50450, in the Golden Triangle between KLCC and Bukit Bintang. The name comes from rumah, the Malay word for home, and the hotel sells itself as a smaller urban stay than the towers hotels nearby. A factsheet updated in 2025 counts 253 rooms and suites. The same sheet puts Kuala Lumpur International Airport about an hour away by car and KL Sentral about twenty minutes. ATAS is the modern Malaysian restaurant in the building. SEVEN is the lobby bar. Use the in-house table on a night you are staying in, and keep Dewakan or Beta for the night the kitchen is the point. Pavilion is one direction and the Twin Towers are the other. Both are a Grab once the afternoon storm starts. Book on theruma.com, by phone at +60 3 2778 0888, or by email at information@theruma.com. The Waldorf Astoria opening on 30 October 2026 at 73 Jalan Raja Chulan is the newer all-suite hotel. Mandarin Oriental is the park and the towers. This is the bed when you want both neighborhoods close and a room count that still feels like a house. UR Spa is in the building if the afternoon is for recovery and the towers can wait until the next morning. Ask for a room off the street if Kia Peng traffic is the thing that keeps you awake.

While you're there

Pavilion and Bukit Bintang are one walk on a dry evening. KLCC and Dewakan are the other direction, and both want a car in the rain. ATAS covers the night you are not crossing town.

Pro Tip: Give the driver 7 Jalan Kia Peng in full. A car that has only heard RuMa has been known to start toward the wrong block.

Best for
A Golden Triangle hotel between the towers and Bukit Bintang.
Pair with
ATAS on a night in, Dewakan when the dinner is the point.
Season / timing
Ask for a quiet room on weekends, when Kia Peng traffic runs late.
