Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia
The Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia stands on Jalan Lembah Perdana, 50480, on the Lake Gardens side of the old Kuala Lumpur railway station. The street wall is white geometric tile, a gold mark, and the name in Malay and in English. The galleries are through that door. Tatreez, an exhibition on Palestinian embroidery, runs from 19 June 2026 to 25 April 2027 and is included with the ordinary entrance fee. The exhibition page prints daily hours of 9:30 to 6:00. A Department of Museums Malaysia listing still says 9:00 to 5:00, and records closures on the first two days of Hari Raya Aidilfitri and of Aidiladha. Adult admission is widely listed at RM20, with a lower student rate. Confirm the day's hours and the ticket on iamm.org.my or at the desk, because the two public clocks do not agree. Go by Grab from Bukit Bintang or KLCC. The walk from Pasar Seni looks short on a map and feels long at noon. Phone numbers published for the museum include +60 3 2274 2020 and +60 3 2092 7070. Give Tatreez an hour if the embroidery is why you came, and longer if you start in the permanent galleries. This morning sits apart from Pavilion, Suria, and the new hotel on Raja Chulan. None of them share a ticket with the door on Jalan Lembah Perdana.

While you're there
The old railway station and the National Mosque are the landmarks to give a driver if the pin drifts. The Lake Gardens are the green if you still have an hour. Leave the Twin Towers for a different morning.
Pro Tip: Ask for Muzium Kesenian Islam, Jalan Lembah Perdana. The English name alone has sent more than one car toward the wrong museum.
- Best for
- A Lake Gardens morning when the malls can wait until after lunch.
- Pair with
- A Bukit Bintang or KLCC hotel, with a Grab each way.
- Season / timing
- Tatreez runs through 25 April 2027. Closed the first two days of each Hari Raya.
