D.T. Suzuki Museum

Small museum for Zen philosopher Daisetz Teitaro Suzuki (1870–1966), born in Kanazawa, designed by Yoshio Taniguchi and opened in 2011. Three wings and three gardens total roughly 632 square metres; the Contemplative Space pavilion sits in the Water Mirror Garden and is intended for quiet sitting rather than photography inside. Adult admission is typically ¥310; hours run 9:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. with last entry 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays (or the following weekday if Monday is a holiday) and over New Year. Combine with Kenrokuen and the 21st Century Museum on the same cultural circuit.
