Capella Hanoi

Capella Hanoi is Bill Bensley's 47-room hotel at 11 Le Phung Hieu, a few steps from the Hanoi Opera House, which closed after 31 January 2026 for a restoration expected to last about two years. The house opened on 30 March 2021. A factsheet dated June 2026 puts premier rooms at up to 35 square metres and the Madama Butterfly suite at up to 194, so ask which of those you are actually holding. Bensley tells a story about a 1920s auberge for people leaving the opera. A later Capella release calls the building a turn-of-the-century theatre. The two accounts do not match, and neither one gets you inside the Opera House on Trang Tien. Sleep here when 47 rooms is the scale you want and the French Quarter walk is the week.
