Beta is chef and co-owner Raymond Tham's contemporary Malaysian restaurant on the ground floor of Cormar Suites at 10 Jalan Perak, 50450, close enough to Bukit Bintang that a dry evening can be a walk. The Tour of Malaysia is listed at RM630 before service and tax, with a beverage pairing at RM330 and a non-alcoholic pairing at RM250, and the house asks you to allow about two and a half hours. Give them forty-eight hours if a diet means the menu has to change. Service runs Tuesday to Sunday from 6:00, Friday and Saturday until 11:00, and the restaurant is dark on Monday. Dewakan, Darren Teoh's two-star restaurant on the 48th floor of Naza Tower, is the dinner that needs a car to KLCC and a six o'clock arrival. Sunday is Dewakan's closed night and Monday is Beta's, so the two rooms can share a week if you book them as separate errands and confirm both calendars before you fly. The Michelin page still mentions an add-on of Sarawakian Lawas rice with abalone. Ask whether it is on the menu the week you go, and do not build the evening around a dish the kitchen may have retired.
