Hakone
Hakone is the onsen stop that still fits after Tokyo: Kowakudani and Gora sit on the Hakone Tozan line above Hakone-Yumoto, with Lake Ashi and Owakudani a short taxi beyond. Hotel The Mitsui Hakone opens at 450-1 Kowakudani on 15 December 2026, about two minutes from Kowakidani Station, with a private spring in every room. The Romancecar from Shinjuku reaches Hakone-Yumoto in about an hour and ten; the shinkansen to Odawara is the faster trunk if the trip starts in Kyoto.
