The Banquet note
Art Basel Miami Beach returns to the Miami Beach Convention Center from 4 to 6 December 2026, with VIP preview days opening earlier in the week. It remains the December meeting point of the Art Basel network: international and Americas-focused galleries in one hall, while satellite fairs, museum shows and private collections spill from South Beach into Wynwood and the Design District. For readers who already do Hong Kong in March and Seoul in September, this is the Americas temperature check, not a substitute for those weeks. Design Miami occupies Pride Park next door from 1 to 6 December on a separate ticket.
Give the Convention Center its own day. Give the mainland another if you care about museums or Wynwood; the causeway punishes anyone who tries to do both between lunch and a 16:00 appointment. Book the beach if the fair is why you came. Keep dinner reservations loose until preview invitations settle, because the people you actually want to see will move their tables. Plan it well
Sleep on Miami Beach for the Convention Center and Pride Park. Cross to the mainland once, on purpose. Satellite-fair badges are extra and optional.
